Do we need women to protect the environment?

The role of women in protecting the environment is crucial. Climate justice can never exist without gender equality since climate change is disproportionately affecting women and girls. During the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence we seek to promote the full and effective participation of women in achieving environmental sustainability in a way that contributes to respect for women, their knowledge, capabilities, and rights. But how important is their role in private sector engagement, civil society activism and decision making?

During this hybrid event, three speakers from Kuwait will speak about how decision-makers in the oil sector can protect the environment; what contribution can civil society activists and experts do to enhance the environment protection in Kuwait and has the private sector achieved any form of contribution in regard of environmental protection.

Opening words shall be given by Laurens Westhoff the ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Kuwait, Support Non-Profit representative Abdulhakeem and Noura Boodai, Vice President of Registration and Student Affairs of the university.
