Violence against women: what can you do?

1 in 3 women worldwide will experience violence during their lifetime. This makes violence against women and girls one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in the world. Although it is such an enormous problem, these violations remain largely unreported due to the impunity, silence, stigma and shame surrounding it.

What is toxic masculinity and the importance of education/upbringing of boys with regards to violence against women? Why is the financial independence important for women to break the cycle of violence against women? Why is it difficult for women to ask for help in violent situations?

On the 25th of November it is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It is also the start of the Orange the World campaign: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence. Only together can we stop violence against women and each and every one has a role to play in it.

Because each individual can make a difference, we ask all of you to join for this HagueTalks to learn more about what you can do relating to violence against women.
