Election observers are watching you

“The main motivation for my work in the field of human rights in general and elections in particular is the desire to be useful to society. The organization of observation missions leads to an increase in the level of education of citizens, civic engagement and the strengthening of civil society.”

The main feature of last kazakhstani elections was the increased protest activity of citizens, which was manifested in a protest vote. Collective actions of huge amount of people can change a situation with election law. Mass independent observing campaingn is capable to reduce level of violations during voting day.

Roman Reimer from Kazakhstan is the co-founder and head of the Legal Department of Wings of Liberty. This is a youth NGO striving to contribute to an open society in Kazakhstan through human rights advocacy, promoting civic activism and raising awareness among youth.
