Nenad Golčevski was born in 1976 in Serbia, where he graduated psychology at the University of Belgrade in 2001 and then worked for four years as the Head of the Centre for Research of Information Technologies of the Belgrade Open School. In 2007 he graduated (cum laude) from the Research Master in Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

In 2005 he started working with the Belgrade based NGO Humanitarian Law Centre on a joint project with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

Since 2013 he joined the ICTY, first as the Head of the Outreach Programme, then in 2015 as the Spokesperson, and since 2016 as the Head of Communications.
