Should the world stand up for international justice?

Human rights violations : should the world stand up for international justice?

Economic prominence of states at the world stage does often not align with their stance on international justice. China, for example, sees international justice and human rights too often as Western inventions and interventions. Chinese international lawyer and human rights expert Michael Liu wants to change that because he is fascinated by its multilayered impact, as a framework for international relations, with the capacity to bind states and nations. After his Talk Liu will start the dialogue with the audience and with seven human right defenders from all over the world.

Speaker: Mr. Michael Liu.

Other human rights experts: Gautam Bhatia (India), Jimena Suarez Ibarrola (Mexico), Angela Uwandu-Morgan (Nigeria), Sergey Golubok (Russia), Iryna Kushnir (Ukraine), Ali Zeynel Gokpinar (Turkey) en Sayi Nindi (South-Africa).

Moderator: Robert Heinsch, Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies of Leiden University.
