Social networks require responsibility – academic conslidated support could help.

Cyber requires academic consolidation on national and NATO/EU level to address critical issues – for example the use of social networks and especially responsible behavior and tracebility of publicly important statements.

BIOGRAPHY

After  24 years in military, followed by an academic career in the Academy of Sciences Velizar Mateev Shalamanov was for 3 years a Deputy Minister of Defense (1998-2001), Minister of Defense (2014) and worked 7.5 years as a Director Demand Management in the NATO’s IT and Cyber Agency. Currently he is focusing on consolidation of the academic cyber capacity in Bulgaria and EU (under H2020 project). In parallel is his engagement in the NGOs and politics for better positions of Bulgaria in NATO and European defense, development of the information society and improvement of research governance.
