Theodor Meron

As a child, Theodor Meron was deeply affected by WWII as a Polish refugee who survived ghettos and a forced labor camp before the Nazis were defeated. He lost almost all of his family members who were killed by the Nazi’s because they were Jews. His experience with atrocities of war inspired him to become a scholar in International Law, and he eventually became a judge in the international criminal court system.

BIOGRAPHY

Theodor is the President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and Presiding Judge of the Appeals Chambers of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the ICTY in The Hague. In 2012 he was elected as a Judge of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism).

Harisson studied performing arts at Kenya Performing Arts Academy. Harrison has worked on many themes including HIV/AIDS, Abortion, Extremism, and Peace. Harrison works for YADEN (Youth Arts Development and Entrepreneurship Network) an NGO working in East Africa.
