The greatest challenge to addressing SGBV is not the absence of laws.

Teresa Mugadza’s talk will highlight some of the challenges survivors of SGBV face in accessing justice. Using IDLO’s work in Liberia as a case study, the talk will share some lessons learnt in increasing efficiency and effectiveness of justice actors in responding to SGBV.

BIOGRAPHY

Teresa Mugadza is the IDLO Country Manager in Liberia. Her work focuses on capacity building for justice sector actors in the response to sexual and gender based violence. Teresa identifies as a feminist and has worked extensively for the promotion of women’s rights with focus on ending violence against women and increasing women’s participation in leadership and decision making.
