As a professor in the field of human rights, state law and gender based violence at the Brazilian civil police academy and as the Head of the Womens’ Special Police Office in Brasília, Sandra has the goal to multiply knowledge to empower women, to protect them and change the way they themselves think about their own rights. She has been working on the theme of violence against women for more than 20 years to create a world for her two daughters in which women are respected.

Working with vulnerable women day in day out, she has experienced firsthand the difficulty for women to ask for help when they find themselves in a violent situation.
