We all have critical roles to play in fostering equitable food systems.
Ndidi Nwuneli wants to ensure that Africans can nourish themselves. She believes that addressing hunger and malnutrition directly will impacts educational outcomes for Africa’s children, ensure a healthy workforce that can drive economic growth and foster more stable and resilient communities. Ndidi Nwuneli is passionate about inviting more change-makers to join the movement to create more equitable and transparent food systems, and end hunger in our lifetime!
She draws much inspiration from the words of the late Kofi Annan on food insecurity in Africa. As the former Secretary-General of the UN once said: “a hungry man is not a free man – he cannot focus on anything else but securing his next meal.” Ndidi Nwuneli identifies this as the crux of the issue and has thus committed her life to addressing this challenge, and to change the narrative about Africa’s dependency on the rest of the world.
Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli is a change-maker par excellence in the area of Agriculture and Nutrition. She is the co-founder and managing partner of Sahel Consulting which has helped steer West Africa towards greater food security through strategy and policy innovations. Her work with Sahel Consulting and AACE Foods has demonstrated that that private sector innovations can catalyze the African food revolution.
