Mr Sankaré will explain the relationship between customary leaders and religious figures in customary mediation processes. By using real cases of mediation as an example, Mr Cheick Harouna Sankaré will illustrate how these processes take places, and what are their advantages and disatvanatges.

BIOGRAPHY

Mr Sankaré is an imam, a mayor and a dispute mediator from Mali’s central region of Mopti. He is also the president of the Movement for the Union of Malians that promotes local development initiatives in order to enhance peace throughout the country.
