Our aim is to achieve equality in sports for girls and women in Kuwait

“As a female athlete when I was younger, I did not have the same opportunities and support as my brother just because I was a girl. The cause of equailty in sports and making sure every girl can live her dream is what motivates me everyday.

To present the recent developments of women sports in Kuwait, whether athletes on the field or changing policy and empowering women leaders. We are still in the beginning of our journey but today girls finally have the opportunity to play, but our aim is to provide them with the equal opportunities and support. We also aim to increase women representation in decision making positions in all sports organizations.”

Fatema Hayat is a member of the board of directors of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. She will be tackling how women’s sport was affected during the time of the coronavirus.
