Some topics need to be communicated with care
Designer Daan Wubben created a new language. A language with which we can make the abstract numbers about victims of violence in the media tangible again.
Every day, we are confronted with statistics that represent shocking emotional events. Yet, these numbers are sterile. What does ‘339 drowned refugees in the Mediterranean Sea’ mean? How can we understand the impact of that number?
Daan Wubben graduated cum laude from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2017. As a designer, he is interested in the ways in which information is shown to the world and how audiences perceive it. Wubben thinks that some situations deserves to be communicated with empathy, attention, and through a suitable medium or platform.
