Women and creativity are the renewable sources of our planet
“I started my journey as a gender equality advocate, out of realisation that gender inequality is still limiting the potentials of half of the world. I started Lensational in 2013, to empower women and girls through photography and storytelling. Through their stories, I have learnt that climate change is a gender justice issue, and voices of women and girls must be heard.”
Women have embodied nature for millennia. Yet, with climate change, women and girls are now suffering the most, but they also hold the key to climate action. Bonnie’s talk highlights the power of women and creativity in climate action, to serve as an urgent call for action to protect our Mother Earth.
She is the Managing Director of an international strategy consulting firm advising clients on social innovation and promoting cross-sector collaboration. She is a convener and thought leader in impact investing, serving as the Executive of Diversity Forum in the UK, and the Coordinator of Women in Social Finance, a network for 100 senior women in impact investing.
Apart from leading organisations, Bonnie also serves in strategic governance roles, including as trustee of Student Hubs, a national charity that catalyses social action in universities. Bonnie has been awarded Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur in Europe, the Hong Kong Youth Service Award, and Young Achiever of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
