Syeda Shagufe Hossain is the founder and project director of Leaping Boundaries. The vision of Leaping Boundaries is to transform social norms into a situation where every child is treated equally. The organisation aims to reduce gender disparity by providing counselling on menstrual hygiene and body image and imparting emotional, cultural and communication skills to female madrasa students, as well as increase the visibility of female students at platforms where they are still underrepresented. Examples are platforms such as national debate competitions, the Spelling Bee, leadership platforms such as the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre’s training programmes, and art competitions and hackathons.
