BIOGRAPHY

Ambassador Marriet Schuurman is the Special Representative on Women, Peace and Security, NATO. She is the high-level focal point on all aspects of NATO’s contributions to the Women, Peace and Security agenda, with the aim to facilitate coordination and consistency in NATO’s policies and activities and to take forward the implementation of the NATO/EAPC Policy and Action Plan on the Implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 and related Resolutions. Ambassador Schuurman has served as aDutch diplomat in many different countries and regionssuch as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Sudan, Zambia and Russia.
